A chapter on ethical considerations is unusual in a textbook of neuroanaesthesia but completely relevant to a specialty that deals with substantial numbers of incompetent patients and those in which end of life issues are highly relevant.
I would have liked to have seen more coverage of neurocritical care issues and also of neuromonitoring techniques. Neuroanaesthesia is an area where the knowledge and skill of the anaesthetists has a direct impact on clinical outcome and this book explains not only what to do in a variety of clinical scenarios, but also why to do it and how to avoid complications.
