Greg then plans to revisit the Coffman House to retrieve the camera. But when Greg's English classmates named Donny and Brian, mocked him in public by pretending to take photographs with their hands and quipping "Say cheese and die! Later that night, Greg returns to the Coffman House, only to discover that it has been purchased by a new owner who has had the place cleared out.

While Greg is searching for the camera in the debris, a boy named Jonathan catches him, taking him for a thief. He soon realizes that this is not the case. Greg learns that Jonathan is the son of the new owner of the Coffman house. Greg says that he must show it to his English class, but Jonathan becomes interested in keeping the camera, arguing that it is technically his since it was originally in his new house.

While fighting for the camera, Greg accidentally snaps Jon's picture. The photograph then shows a long carpenter nail through Jon's foot. Jon thinks that the camera is a joke and Greg asks if he can borrow it for a while.

Jonathan then runs off to find his father, only to step on a carpenter nail, as predicted in the photograph, and then is rushed to the hospital after that.

The next day, Greg goes to school and is caught by Shari on the way. Greg tries to hide the camera from Shari unsuccessfully.

They have an argument about Greg bringing the camera to school. This results in Greg accidentally snapping a picture of Shari, while they fight for the camera. The picture then develops and appears to be a negative, leading the two to believe that the camera is broken. Shari then grabs the camera and takes a picture of Greg, which then develops into a picture of Greg appearing to look like an obese person. Greg then goes to English class, excited to show Mr. Saur his camera as proof for his assignment.

He is welcomed by Mr. Saur's substitute, which makes him upset. He then decides to put the camera in his locker; however, he is caught by Donny and Brian after exiting the classroom.

They torment him with the camera; however, are stopped by the principal. The next morning, Greg wakes up to find himself fatter in his pajamas. His mother disagrees, saying that his pajamas are always too tight for him. Greg finds out in school that Shari has lost weight. Over the following days, Shari loses more weight while Greg gains more. Saur arrives the following day and Greg shows him the camera which he ignores. He then makes his final decision, which is to give Greg a failing mark.

Greg's parents insist that his weight gain is the result of some allergic reaction to something he ate.

Shari and Greg, desperate for a solution, realize that if they make Greg's photo negative, there might be a chance of returning to their normal bodies. They rush to a photo shop where Greg's brother Terry works. They find him and plead with him to reverse their pictures.

Greg offers him all of his allowance, which his brother accepts. His brother then reverses the pictures and the following day, Greg and Shari return to their normal bodies. Against Shari's advice, Greg brings the camera to school and again insists to Mr. Saur to give him a passing mark for his assignment, offering to demonstrate the camera's powers.

Saur takes the camera and insists on taking a picture of Greg with his entire class. He then snaps the photo. I'm sorry. I just can't with this. Greg had a report to write on a true story. He decided to write about what happened in the first book.

The camera where you took pictures and instead of the picture you took being the one that developed, there was another disturbing image that turned out. His teacher didn't let him finish his oral report and deemed that Greg didn't take the assignment seriously.

So he gave him an F. Greg's parents had told him that if he didn't get good grades on his remaining report cards, he wouldn't be able to Greg had a report to write on a true story. Greg's parents had told him that if he didn't get good grades on his remaining report cards, he wouldn't be able to go to his cousins' house for the summer. So, he decided to find the camera again and prove his teacher wrong. Unfortunately, when Shari took a picture of him, he turned out being lbs in the picture and she was as thin as a stick person.

Trying to solve one problem turned into another. And they struggle to find a way to correct it. If they can even correct it. While reading it, I found myself thinking it wasn't exactly a great sequel but with the cliffhanger ending and despite the scientific impossibilities in this story, it turned out to be a good sequel.

In Say Cheese and Die-Again! Stine, the protagonist of the first book, Greg, goes back to the spot where he discovered the wicked camera. In the first book, Say Cheese and Die , the evil camera takes pictures that show the person whose photo was taken in some horrific accident or condition.

Why does Greg want to go back and get the camera from the house he left it in? His teacher doesn't believe his story about the evil camera. He doesn't want to get an F so that's This book is a disaster. He doesn't want to get an F so that's why he gets the camera. That's not the big problem of the book. The big problem of the book has to do with the mechanics of the camera this go-round.

In the first book, it was pretty simple to understand the mechanics. Take a picture of someone, then the person has something bad happen to them. But in this book, for some reason, if you take a picture of someone, it either makes you really fat or really thin. Obesity is a problem worldwide I've gotten fatter myself with age and there's plenty that people could do to combat obesity.

Particularly governments and food companies could do a lot more to combat and regulate unhealthy eating. It really is an institutional problem. The last thing we need is a lot of body-shaming, and that's what most of this book is. I'm not particularly hung up on the body-shaming. I am, as silly as it might sound, just more bothered by the mechanics of the camera. It's stupid as heck. This book should be read by no one. This rather offensive sequel to one of my favorite entries in the series takes everything that was good about the first the spooky haunted camera premise, a few of the characters, etc.

Seemingly forgetting the entire resolution to Say Cheese And Die!

He did it again. Another bad ending. Here we have Greg who gets a failing grade because his idiot teacher doesn't believe his "summer story" or whatever it was. So, Greg looks for the camera and bad things happen. In the first book, if I'm not mistaken, the way to reverse the "curse" was to rip up the photo.

In this book they acted as if they had never gone through this before. Greg and his friend panic when the bad things happen to them. I feel they should have started right away with the photos He did it again.

I feel they should have started right away with the photos, but the book took awhile to get started. Not very interesting, but I managed to get through it. First book was much better. I was left with a cup unfilled. Dec 01, Danny rated it it was amazing Shelves: Ahhh, the Goosebump days. I would borrow so many of these from the library they seriously considered extending my limit of books checked out at one time. Stine you were a reprieve from a harsh and dreary childhood in which my mind wandered far away from the troubles of the day.

I stole books into my bed and read far into the night by the faintest of lights. I might have better eyesight were it not for you; however, I regret not one page or line.

Dec 10, Connie rated it really liked it Shelves: I own this book. Unknown Title: Say Cheese and Die-Again Series: Goosebumps 44 Author: RL Stine Overall Rating: The first one terrified me. Like I was so scared of this evil camera, and the second one, although not as spooky, is definitely more suspenseful than the first. It's so good! Definitely one of the top 20 in the series.

This book was pretty good. It was not the scariest Goosebumps book I have ever read, but it was still good. I would recomend it to anyone who likes a good laugh if i do say so myself. It is about a haunted camera that when it takes a picture of someone somethng terrible happens. Such as a making a boy weigh over lbs. View 1 comment. Feb 02, Tracey rated it really liked it Shelves: This one kind of creeped me out a little bit.

The idea of wasting away or gaining hundreds of pounds rapidly does not sit well with my very vivid imagination. The ending was just horrible. I can't think of what the camera will do to the whole class now.

If only that butthole of a teacher had gotten his picture taken too. Oct 18, Chakara rated it it was amazing. I actually did not guess how they were going to fix the problem. Great story that I missed when I was a child. I'm so angry with this book I could scream.

One evening Greg is at home doing his homework and when he woke up he went to school his teacher Mr. Sour all the kids called him sourball behind his back asked Greg to say his report to the class and when Greg got up there his hands where shaking and he started talking. This is what he ssaid one day me and my friends Bird,Sharie, and Walter found an old camera and I took a picture and His teacher told him to prove it and that night he went to the house and got the camera but he accedently took a picture of a boy named Jon and the picture showed a nail through the boys foot and about one minute it all came true and he took the camera and ran Sharie the next day took a picture of Greg and that day he at least gaind pounds and Sharie lost at least pounds and was bloune away in the wind so they got the pictures canged around and it worked they were both back to normal but the next day the teacher took the picture of the whole class and then the whole book just ends.

IT was a good book that is my book review. Currently rereading my original Goosebumps collection Wow. What to say about this one? As a sequel, it's terrible. It hardly follows the plot or themes of the first Say Cheese and Die. There are plot holes galore. It's never explained why Shari becomes skinny or why the photo is negative. Also, the ending was disappointing. You'll see why once you finish the book. Not a great book in the series. Especially not compared to the first Say Cheese and Die which I loved.

In the book he lies to this boy named Jon because he needs the camera for something important. View all 4 comments. For den endte jo sjovt nok med lidt af et twist.

I denne historie er kameraet stadig at finde i Coffmann-huset, eller rettere ved. Har banditternes navne? Darwins lov. Det var nogle lidt mere barske forudsigelser end dem i den forrige bog, omend at man sagtens kunne have lavet endnu flere. Jun 16, Tiffany Spencer rated it liked it.

That is unless he can prove that the camera is real. Not only affecting the victims of the pictures he snaps but this time himself as well. With the curse of the camera against him will he prove to his teacher the truth that will change his grade?

My Thoughts: When I read the last book, it ended with Mickey and Joey finding the camera. Or did Spidey die? I felt so bad for Shari in this. Greg too, but especially Shari. And let me tell you, I can personally attest to what it feels like to be skin and bones. More horrible than you can ever imagine. Saur Sour why did it leave us on a cliff-hanger at the end? The solution was clever with the reversal of the photographs to the damage the camera left with turning Greg fat and Shari skinny.

Poor Shari! The first third of the book was a recap of the other Say Cheese and Die book, and the first half of the book was a bit formulaic. Perhaps that's my fault for reading 44 books by the same author back-to-back. You get used to their writing style and character arcs.

The second half of the book is where R. Stine got into his element and left out all that needless orientation info-dump that the beginning had. Things got real and serious fast.
